Question #1:

Should I let him go to experience new things and people?

I know this is long, but I have never asked such a long question before, and I would really like some input.

I am 17 years old, a soon-to-graduate senior in high school, very smart and mature. I have been with my boyfriend for a little over a year and a half, and he is everything a girl could ask for. He graduated from HS last year, is family-oriented, gentle, caring, honest, has a good job at an airline company (which even provides me free trips), has his own means of transportation and would never cheat on me.

However, his family is a collection of things I never dreamed I would be a part of, or have involved with ever in my life. One if his sisters had a child when she was only 17, she is on bad terms with her child's father, is on public assistance, failed classes and was forced to withdraw from college, is a cashier at a local grocery store and is currently with another woman who constantly fights with her, even in front of her child. Another of his sisters is constantly skipping school, getting into fights and getting picked up by the police while walking to a friend's house at night and lying that her mother allowed her to do so. Yet another sister is spoiled by her father who is in the Army and gives bad attitude to everyone in the house, and also invites my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend over to many parties, without considering my feelings though she knows damn well she should. His mother has been married 4 different times, to different men, has 5 children - from 3 different men, is unemployed and is a chain-smoker. He denies his father, who left his mom when he was a kid and hates him with a burning passion. His family depends on food stamps, though 5 out of 7 people in the household make sufficient money. He really does seem like the only practical person in his family -__-

Sometimes, I wonder what would happen if I let him go, and experience life without him again. I look around at school and see a lot of couples who I doubt will even last for the next 2 months. I, however, feel that my boyfriend and I could. This is what makes it so hard to leave. Plus, I could never think of hurting him or his niece, who I've grown really attached to (and vice versa).

Any thoughts on my situation?

Question #8:

What is the best way to cash in on a huge old stamp collection from around the world?

I'm looking for more info on how to value and sell my grandfather's stamps. We know he looked at it as an investment so I'm sure it's worth a ridiculous amount.

Question #9:

How to value/sell HUGE international stamp collection?

My grandfather recently passed and he left the family with quite a task. Not even his wife knew the extent of his hobby, now we've got hundreds of thousands of stamps. Some are well organized so we'll probably start there, others are amassed in boxes in a storage locker. He also has coins FYI but this post is about stamps. With little intrinsic value, they're presenting an interesting puzzle. We know he saw this hobby as an investment, so I'm guessing it's worth more than we could imagine. It's a strange sort of treasure that has worth only to an esoteric subculture.

My plan was to learn all I could and help her find what's valuable and put it up on e-bay. I'm just hoping for some friendly advice regarding this collection and how to help my grandma cash in on some of it, maybe earning a pretty penny for my efforts. These stamps come from all over the world, so most of the websites I've seen so far (US or US/GB) are only just so helpful.

Does anyone know of a person who would help us value the collection (in Southern California) and maybe help us sell some of it? I realize these people are rare and it's hard to get them interested, but I suspect a big enthusiast would willingly fly across the planet to take a look at this collection. It's just that extensive.

Question #11:

Previous occupant's post - debt letters?

3 Months ago, I bought a new house. The previous owner had rented it out to tenants before selling the house to me. The previous owners last tenant was in serious debt, could no longer afford the rent and went to move in with family. I can completely understand as to why she did it, but she did not inform the people to whom she owed money her new address.

She gets at least 2 letters a day, from either: banks, personal finance companies, debt collection agencies and debt charities. Last week I received 27 letters to her, the majority of which appear to come from DCA's. I cannot remember any day where she has not been sent post - other than Sundays when there's no postal service.

I would like to be able just to forward these letters in the post to her, but I don't know her new address, nor does the old owner of my house. I now have a small hill formed from these letters - I've tried phoning the companies or marking return to sender on the letters. My phone calls are ignored, and marking return to sender just seems to make them send me twice as many.

I'm not quite sure what to do now - these letters are consuming a fairly large portion of my kitchen surface top. I could just shred the letters or throw them away, but they're not my letters to do that with and it wouldn't stop the DCA's posting them. I could find the address of the woman's new house but I'd have to pay for 27 stamps every week, which could cost a fair old but, just to forward someone else's post. I'd like to know if there's any legislation I can use to force these companies to stop sending me someone else's post - because it's getting annoying now.

Thanks
Just to clarify, if it makes any difference - I live in the UK

What year was the first CR85RE (expert) made?, im curious, yesterday i bought another bike to add to my collection, its a CR85R but it seems to be missing all tag, stamp, stickers and serial numbers so i cant find out what year it is, its the older style with only one shroud but it has a 19'' front wheel a 16'' back wheel and the extended swing arm so all clues suggest its either a CR85R with expert stuff or a CR85RE, i guess i cant complain either way considering i only give fifty bucks for it :P, anyway any ideas?

Question #18:

NEED A CREATIVE NAME FOR MY CLOTHING LINE? THANK YOU :)!?

im an aspiring fashion designer.

I need a BOLD FLASHY name. something fresh. nothing conservative like my last name. "juicy couture" is a good example. but i dont want anything similar. Im not very good with words :P

my brand is made up of many collections. i guess my design have a certain inexplicable style overall. here is an example of what kind of collections i have:

grunge victoria + soft lace victorian Collection = mosaic. confetti. lace. rich purple red leather. tafetta. pearls. brooches. belts worn in eccentric styles. antique red stamps. gold kisses.

Cruise (need a different name 2) Collection = flamboyant linen blends. straw. iridescent hues in accessories. alligator like peachy/mandarin orange/white leather. butterflies. destroyed acid holes outlined in shiny gold stains.

Rave/Iridescent/Neon (need a name) = street-look iridescent leather jackets and shoes. iridescent belts worn in a slightly skanky way. dark tones and one bright iridescent accesory. this is the night kinda version of the Cruise collection.

and more!

I need a name and some very sleak describing words/slogans please! :)

Question #19:

How may I determine gun age and manufacture method?

A little background:

I have some guns that I bought at an estate sale a while back. As I am preparing to spend a lot of time hunting this year, I thought that I would sell most of my current collection in favor of buying just 2 high quality rifles for specific types of hunting (1 for varmint/coyote/cougar/feral pig and 1 big game).

Items in question:

I have two guns in 30-06 that I was told were pre-xxxx, which meant that they were made before big name gun manufacturers started stamping metal for guns. One is a Remington 700 and the other a Remington 7600. Both do seem to be much more substantial than modern non-custom guns.

The questions:

1. What year was this person probably referring to?
2. Is it possible to determine their year of manufacture and manufacture method? If so, how?
3. How does would this affect their value relative to new rifles of this model? (e.g. 35% less, the same, 15% more, etc.)
4. One has a very worn recoil butt pad. The material is very brittle and a little crumbly. Would the rifle be worth more or less if I properly replaced the pad?
5. The other's ejector can stick a little about every 10 rounds or so if one doesn't pull the bolt "just so". Should I repair this? Or will it affect the value adversely?

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help.

P.S. I am asking this here for the "infinite" collective wisdom of the internet before I go to my local gun shop, so that I have some basic knowledge of the subject beforehand.

Question #20:

do you think librarians [in say Leicester Braford and Oldham] are aware of any foreign language ISLAMIST texts?

in their collections, ie mawdudi, qutb, banna, ete etc? also, should they do an audit of the books that fit into that category, and mark/stamp them all [with a warning] as containing hateful and intolerant views.
if the majority community cant be aware of their contents [due to the language barrier] then isnt it the responsibility of librarians, to highlight the problematical content, on behalf of the general public.
